‘Minecraft Preview’ A new app allows players to test out upcoming features

Mojang introduces a new app to make it easier for players to explore new Minecraft features.

The Preview App for Minecraft will replace the current system.

Players who wish to test new features in Minecraft Bedrock must first download the Xbox Insider hub, sign up for the beta program, and then switch between current and beta releases as you like. The new Minecraft Preview App will eliminate most of that hassle.

Mojang has released Minecraft Preview on the official blogThe company also shared details of how it will change the game. Betas currently only work on Android, Windows and Xbox. However, the app will soon be accessible across more platforms. It is an independent app that can be used with Minecraft Bedrock. This will eliminate the need for you to change between build. Minecraft Preview is initially only available for iOS, Xbox and Windows 10/11. Mojang has been working to bring it to other platforms.

The blog also noted that worlds can’t be imported to Minecraft Preview at the moment. Preview will also not include cross-platform multiplayer and the marketplace, but only for certain platforms. There won’t be any realms or featured servers available. Achievements are another example.

In other news, a patch for Elden Ring has put a stop to hackers breaking players’ save files. Prior to the patch, an exploit was in the game that allowed PC players to hack another player’s save file, causing them to infinitely spawn in an invalid area of the world, resulting in a permanent in-game death cycle.
